Can I trade during news events?
Opening a position within 3 minutes before or after a news event is prohibited. If you do, the position may be closed and its profit removed, your leverage may be reduced, or the account may be breached. Holding a position you already had open through a release is not itself a violation — the rule exists to stop traders taking a position on the release, not to penalise someone who was already in the market. The firm decides what counts as a news event.
Is overnight and weekend holding allowed?
On the Two-Step and One-Step programmes, positions can be held overnight and over the weekend. Instant Funding is different: open positions are closed at 3:45 PM EST on Friday unless you add the Hold Over the Weekend option at checkout. That closure is not a breach — trading resumes as normal on Sunday.
Can I hedge positions or trade across multiple accounts?
Hedging within your own account is not prohibited. What is prohibited is arbitraging one account against another — whether the second account is with us or with another firm — and any coordinated trading between related accounts designed to work around the rules. If you hold several of our accounts you may trade them all; you may not use one to offset another.
Can someone else trade on my account?
No. Your account is for your personal use only. You must trade it yourself and cannot let anyone else access, manage or trade it on your behalf. You also may not manage other users' accounts, sell trading signals, or run a copy-trading service within the programme. Copying your own trades between accounts that you personally own is fine.
Can I use bots, algorithms or automated strategies?
Yes. You can trade using an automated strategy, subject to the prohibited-trading policy. What is not allowed is software used to manipulate the platform, exploit pricing errors or latency, or bypass the rules — including strategies marketed as designed to pass assessments, and using one strategy to pass an assessment and a different one on the funded account.
Can I use delayed quotes or slow data feeds?
No. The use of pricing errors, delayed price feeds, system malfunctions, or non-public and insider information is strictly prohibited, whether done knowingly or unknowingly.
How many accounts can I hold?
There is no limit on the number of challenge accounts you can purchase. For funded accounts, the maximum allocation per trader is $1,000,000.
How does the Max Overall Loss rule work?
Max Overall Loss is the maximum total drawdown allowed on your account. If your equity drops to or below the threshold at any point, including on open positions, your account will be failed.
Challenge accounts — static
The threshold is fixed from the start and never changes, regardless of any profits you make. It is calculated once from your initial balance. On a $10,000 account with a 10% Max Loss, your limit is always $9,000.
Instant Funding — trailing to initial balance
The loss limit trails up as your equity grows, but never rises above your starting balance — once it reaches that level, your initial capital is fully protected. On a $10,000 account with a 5% Max Loss ($500): if equity reaches $10,300, the floor becomes $9,800. If equity instead falls to $9,600 with no prior profit, the floor stays at $9,500, behaving like a fixed limit until you make a profit.
What is the Instant Lite consistency rule?
On Instant Lite, no single trading day may account for more than 25% of your total profits. This is checked when you request a payout. It applies to Instant Lite only — no consistency requirement is published for Two-Step, One-Step or Instant Pro.
Consistency % = (Highest single-day profit ÷ Total profit) × 100
Worked example
Your best day made $6,000 and your total profit is $20,000. Consistency = ($6,000 ÷ $20,000) × 100 = 30%. Because 30% exceeds the 25% threshold, you cannot request a payout yet — you need a further $4,000 in profit, bringing the total to $24,000, so that your best day represents exactly 25%.
When can I request a payout?
Your first payout can be requested at any time — there is no waiting period before it. After that it is one request every 30 days on Two-Step, One-Step and Instant Pro, and every 14 days on Instant Lite. Crypto works to the 30-day cycle too; equities pays every 14 days, and Funded Futures pays a fixed amount at the end of each phase.
Does taking a payout affect my account?
Yes. On forex & CFD, requesting a payout locks your maximum-loss level permanently at your original starting balance. If you then withdraw all of your profit, your balance falls back to that level — which breaches the account. Leave a buffer in, or buy the Remove Lock Upon Payout add-on at checkout. Crypto does not apply this lock.
